About the Program

Eastern Washington University’s post-baccalaureate program in Communication Sciences and Disorders is located in the SIERR Building at 850 E Spokane Falls Blvd, Spokane, WA.

The program follows the semester system, which begins in late August and ends in early May.

The post-baccalaureate program is designed to prepare the student with course content applicable to the pursuit of a Master of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders (CSD). The post baccalaureate option is for graduates from any discipline. The post-baccalaureate student will study selected courses from the undergraduate curriculum, Course Schedule for the entire post baccalaureate year assuming full-time enrollment. Most students complete the program in one year if they attend full-time.

Course work in biological sciences should emphasize a content area related to human or animal sciences. Acceptable courses in physical sciences should include physics or chemistry. Acceptable social/behavioral sciences courses should include psychology, sociology, anthropology or public health. Course work in math must include a statistics course. The supporting courses can be fulfilled at Eastern or at other colleges or universities.

Required courses for the profession are guided by the knowledge and skills outcomes of the certification standards for the CCC-SLP as set forth by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA). See the ASHA website at: http://www.asha.org for further information.
