As students prepare to learn in virtual settings for the spring quarter, many are also managing the financial consequences that come with new technology needs, housing changes, food insecurity and unemployment.

Eastern Washington University’s Recreation Center (URC) successfully hosted the Men’s and Women’s National Curling Championships, which wrapped up Feb. 15. The weeklong, national competition featured the top men’s and women’s teams in the country vying for a spot on Team USA for the subsequent World Championships.    

Psychology professor Susan Ruby is on a mission to designate Eastern as the leader in Social Emotional Learning (SEL) training for the region. Last fall, the EWU Foundation awarded Ruby a grant to help make it happen.
