Scholarship Opportunities

Requirements & Guidelines:

  • The $1000 Len Stern Research Award was developed to support students pursuing research to prepare for graduate school/an academic career
  • Applicants must be juniors, majoring in Psychology, Applied Developmental Psychology, or Health Psychology

School of Psychology students are awarded approximately $9,750 in scholarships each year—just one part of the $9.7 million EWU awards annually to nearly 1,500 students through a single scholarship application.

Scholarships aren’t just for top GPAs or athletes—they’re based on your major, background, community service, and more. And the best part? Scholarships are free money you don’t have to pay back.

Apply Nov. 1 – Feb. 1 with the EWU General Scholarship Application and open the door to funding your education.

A bachelor’s degree in psychology prepares you for a wide array of entry-level positions. Many psychology graduates also use their degree as a foundation for graduate-level study to become a licensed professional. 

  • Human & Social Services: Case manager, rehabilitation specialist, mental health technician, community outreach coordinator, social work assistant, adolescent care technician, child/adolescent protection worker, elder care services coordinator, child development specialist, early intervention specialist, and community health advocate.
  • Business & Marketing: Market research analyst, human resources specialist, sales representative supervisor, financial aid counselor, employment interviewer, and volunteer coordinator.
  • Education & Youth Services: Academic advisor, youth counselor, behavioral technician, and special education assistant.
  • Research & Data: Research assistant, project evaluator, survey researcher, database design analyst, health researcher, technical writer, and vocational training teacher.
  • Law & Public Service: Probation officer, correctional treatment specialist, criminal investigator, and victim advocate. 

Yes. Students can join active research lab groups, collaborate with faculty on projects, and present findings at regional and national psychology conferences. Research opportunities are available for both undergraduate and graduate students.
