{"id":16786,"date":"2022-09-19T09:00:09","date_gmt":"2022-09-19T09:00:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/test-www.ewu.edu\/cpp\/?post_type=stories&#038;p=16786"},"modified":"2023-08-16T15:49:15","modified_gmt":"2023-08-16T15:49:15","slug":"professional-accounting-moves-online-fall-2022","status":"publish","type":"stories","link":"https:\/\/test-www.ewu.edu\/cpp\/news\/professional-accounting-moves-online-fall-2022\/","title":{"rendered":"Professional Accounting Moves Online Fall 2022"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As we emerge from the pandemic, EWU\u2019s School of Professional Accounting (SoPA) is re-imagining their curriculum and its delivery, as well as expanding opportunities for experiential learning. \u201cWe want to meet students where they are,\u201d notes Christine Kuglin, former chair of the SoPA. \u201cStudents prefer to work and remain in their home communities while attending school. Online classes enhance students\u2019 ability to manage their schedules, from anywhere they choose and stay close to their families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>What does this change mean for students?<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>All accounting courses will be offered online beginning Fall 2022, permitting maximum scheduling flexibility. By Fall of 2024, students will be able to earn their Bachelor and Master of Professional Accounting degrees completely online.\u00a0Two-hundred-level courses will continue to be offered in person as well as online.<\/li>\n<li>Experiential leaning opportunities will be expanded in response to input from local accounting professionals. These opportunities include the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance program, known as VITA, and a Guardianship Audit Program with their local courts.
