In our graduate counseling specialization programs, students are placed in regional public schools or other local agencies for their practicums and internships. Placements are secured by the internship coordinator who works with local districts, schools and agencies to identify potential placement opportunities. The coordinator works with students to introduce and finalize their placements.
Graduate students in the school counseling option complete their practicum in the same school as their internship. In Washington, the certification covers K-12 so students complete internship hours at two sites: elementary and secondary (either middle/junior high or high school). Our students regularly serve the following districts:
