Our cohort of 40 students begins the program as juniors each fall semester. The total application score (up to 100 points) is calculated solely from the major and minor factors listed below.<\/p>\n<p>Applications will be evaluated solely on their content and eligibility; submission time will not influence points or selection priority. Sessions will be canceled if less than ten individuals are registered. Clinical sites may require students to complete additional background checks.\u00a0 Depending on the clinical sites background check requirements, a social security number (or TIN) may be required.\u00a0 EWU will work with students who do not have a social security number (or TIN) to find an alternative clinical site but cannot guarantee that we will be able to do so.\u00a0 This could result in delays or an inability to progress in your program to graduation.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Current immunization records <\/strong>for mumps, measles, rubella, diphtheria, tetanus, varicella and Hepatitis B. Annual flu shots are required prior to each influenza season.<\/li>\n<li><strong>COVID-19 Vaccination Statement:<\/strong>\u00a0 A majority of clinical sites require students to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. When not fully vaccinated it can be difficult to find clinical placement sites that allow you access to their facilities. EWU will work with students who have medical or religious accommodations to find sites that do not require full COVID vaccination but cannot guarantee that we will be able to find a site. This could result in delays or an inability to progress in your program to graduation. As a future healthcare worker, it you are not fully vaccinated you may find reduced job opportunities because of employer and state\/federal mandates. This can result in difficulty finding a position post-graduation and\/or limited career opportunities, at least at the present time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Completed all remaining dental hygiene prerequisites, EWU BACRs and graduation requirements <\/strong>by the end of summer quarter.
