About
The Bachelor of Science in Public Health is designed to prepare you with the skills and knowledge to become a public health practitioner in a rapidly growing field.
Public Health is about creating healthier communities, improving access to health care, controlling infectious disease, reducing environmental hazards, curbing violence, controlling substance abuse, limiting injuries, and reducing the impact of natural disasters. Public Health majors will develop an understanding of health inequities in our society and the need for social justice. Students will learn theories of health behavior, prepare policy briefs, design and evaluate health promotion programs, conduct environmental audits in the field, develop social marketing campaigns, and learn to assess public health issues through a systems lens.
For more information, or to declare your Undergraduate Public Health major, contact the Wellness and Movement Sciences Department, Dr. Laurie Morley, at lmorley@ewu.edu or 509.359.2312.
