EWU School of Social Work<\/a> is excited to be celebrating 50 years. Thank you to our staff, faculty, students, alumni and community for the support and making the program what it is today! We wouldn’t be here without you.<\/p>\nThe event will begin with a light lunch at noon. The program will include a welcome and introductions, highlight student and faculty stories, and conclude with a keynote speaker. Learn about the past, present, and future of the School of Social Work while you enjoy refreshments & dessert. The event will wrap up with time to reunite with friends and colleagues and make lasting memories at the photo booth.<\/span><\/p>\nTime: <\/strong>12-3 p.m.<\/p>\nLocation: <\/strong>University Center Lobby | 915 North Broadway | Everett, WA 98201<\/p>\nKeynote Speaker:<\/strong> Natalie Green ’04, Assistant Secretary of Child Welfare, WA State Department of Children, Youth, and Families<\/p>\nNatalie Green is the Assistant Secretary of the Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) Child Welfare Division. Prior to her recent appointment she served as the Regional Administrator for Region 3, consisting of Whatcom, Skagit, Snohomish, and San Juan Island Counties. During her 20 years with the Children\u2019s Administration (now DCYF), she worked as a case carrying social worker, Child Protective Services Supervisor, Regional Safety Consultant, Area Administrator, Deputy Regional Administrator, and Regional Administrator for Regions 4 King County, 5 Pierce County, and 6 Olympia, Vancouver and Coastal Washington. <\/span><\/p>\nNatalie has a military background and worked for the federal government as a Job Placement and Counseling Specialist and an Equal Employment Opportunity Counselor. She has a passion for the safety of children and child welfare, so naturally, this has led her to work on various projects and workgroups such as the Child Safety Framework and the organization and establishment of Washington State\u2019s Family Assessment Response (FAR) program. She has a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from National University, San Diego, a Masters of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Master of Social Work and Public Administration Certification from Eastern Washington University and was recently awarded the 2024 Governor\u2019s Outstanding Leadership Award. Natalie is a dedicated and compassionate advocate for empowering others in their personal and professional journey. Through her guidance and mentorship, she fosters a community of like-minded individuals who share her commitment to helping children and families.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n
